Astin shared her hope that he would become closer to his housemates. On the other hand, he doubted they would ever replace or even come close to what remained of his real family.
"I guess," he said. "My mom says Marcel-- my brother-- won't stop asking about me, but you know, there's no way to know for sure." He shrugged. "But realistically, yeah, I'd assume they miss me just as much. Mom said Marcel tells everyone that his big brother's a wizard, so at least they're thinking about me." Astin glanced up at the clock. Had they really been talking that long? He stood. "I should get going. I wanted to get a head-start on sleep tonight." With a quick wave, he slipped back out of the office.

Farah watched Astin go, then smiled to herself. She had some very interesting students this year, and she looked forward to seeing them grow and mature through the years. It shocked her then to realize that before long, she would have her own cubs there, learning spells. Gabriel only had 2 more years.
Ah! That reminded her. She had to finish writing her letter! She pulled the parchment she had set aside back in front of her and began writing once more...

He knocked on the door. He didn't know where else to turn he had been everywhere he could think of, looking but was unable to find what he was searching for. He now felt more hurt and alone than he did before. The Professor said he could come to her when ever right? Well he needed someone to tell him why? And he didn't know anyone besides the only friend he had made and was now nowhere to be found. He stood at the front of the door waiting for the Professor's permission to enter, he didn't want to barge in when she could be with another teacher or student.

((OOC: I'm going to assume that offices are not in RT for the sake of my sanity. XD))
Farah was startled out of her thoughts when a knock sounded on her door. "Enter!" she called out. She half-expected Astin to enter, but it wasn't him. It was another Hufflepuff, a younger student who she knew was named Vince. She smiled lightly at him. "Come in, come in! Would you like a candy?" she asked, motioning at the bowl of candies on her desk.
She wondered what had brought the student in here. He seemed troubled. Her lioness instincts immediately perked up. Who had hurt one of her cubs? She'd rip them to shreds. She'd had enough stress lately to propel her into drastic acts of protective violence if need be, and she didn't need too much motivation to do so. At this point, she'd welcome any amount of an outlet she could manage.

He walked in and sat down in one of her chairs. She offered him candy, but he wasn't all that hungry, so he refused. Professor... I need to talk to you. Classes are fine, and I was having a good time, but now I am all sorts of confused His mind was twisted. He said he loved him, but not he was nowhere to be found. Vince was once again abandon and alone. He want to scream in frustration but Vince highly doubted that would solve anything, which is why he was now in his Professor's office hoping he could trust her. He looked up at her with pleading eyes I met someone and right off the bat I likes him and that's so hard for me. And we'll he said he likes me to and we had a good time. His eyes started to tear up but he quickly blinked them away, he couldn't cry now right now anyway. Now I cant find him anywhere. Its like he vanished and I want to believe that he was just sick or overloaded with school work but its to long of a time. I don't know what to do. He was surprised that he had told her this much but he had to. He couldn't keep this bottled up inside like he did his mother.

Farah's heart melted in empathy. She knew how that was, although she was sure that the circumstances were very much different. Her husband's feelings were very known; his whereabouts and well-being, however, were very much in question. She'd gone to Dumbledore about it and he'd promised her that he'd find her husband. As for this situation, she couldn't be sure about the hearts of children, or of this mysterious friend's sudden distance, but Vince seemed genuinely broken up about his friend's distance.
"When was the last time you saw him?" she asked, her brows knitted in sympathy and concern. With recent happenings being taken into account, she wouldn't put it past a Death Eater to have sneaked in under the radar and stolen a student out from under her. The boy could have found the secret passage to Hogsmeade and gotten taken, or worse, killed by the Death Eaters that had attacked.
Of course, this thinking could be the result of a paranoia born from several years of spying herself before she'd come to Hogwarts. She always had looked at the worst possible scenario; one had to. And though Vinny's primary concern seemed to be the distance between them personally and emotionally, Farah couldn't help but be more concerned about the apparent disappearance of a student.

2 or 3 weeks ago, up in the Astronomy Tower. We don't have any classes together and he's a Ravenclaw so if he wanted to avoid me it would be easy for him to. Vince thought Skylar was avoiding him, after all the night he left in the tower. He wasn't sure if they were allowed up there or not. Sky was into it, maybe that why he had picked the tower so he didn't have to be seen with a Vince. If he truly doesn't want me around I wish that he would just tell me so I knew I was rejected. But not knowing its....Its hard Vince didn't know how else to explain it, he had never felt this way before. At least when his mother died, he knew she was gone. Vince didn't know what was wrong or what was going on with Sky, his mind created some many different events that took place.

Farah pursed her lips in thought. "Who is this student?" she asked, pulling out parchment and quill to write down the name. She would certainly be asking Dumbledore about it later, just to set her mind at ease and to enable her to help Vince in a more informed way.
"And is there any particular reason you can think of for him avoiding you? Did you have a fight?" she asked. She wanted to be able to offer good advice, but she couldn't without knowing more details.

Vince thought for a second, he didn't want Sky in trouble, but then again if Sky was really missing he wanted him safe again Skylar Everson. He said finally said. Well, sometimes, without meaning to I can be really distant. I don't mean to be its something I am working on. He was always distant to everyone around except his mother, and when she died he was even more distant. He didn't talk to much of anyone. And anyone that hung around him really just wanted someone, anyone, to hang out with or it was someone his father brought over that made them hang out.

Skylar Everson. Ohh. "Ah, Mr. Forest," she said, setting the quill down and sitting back, "This isn't an easy thing to say, but your friend was suspended for being up in the Restricted Section past curfew. We are unsure whether or not he'll be returning, because we've heard nothing about him since, but we do not play around with the Restricted Section. It's forbidden for a reason; there are books in there that could kill someone if used improperly."
Farah smiled at him in what she hoped was a comforting way. "I figure you have a right to know that it was not your fault, distant or no. Perhaps you could try and write him a letter and see how he is doing?"

Oh! Ok He thought about what she said for a moment before it clicked. He didn't leave him, he got into trouble. He felt better. Though, he knew it wasn't right to do what he did. Thank you knowing that I feel so much better. I mean its not right what he did. Your completely right, rules are set for a reason. I know from experience. He mutter that last part to himself. He had gotten into his dad's 'adult' movies thinking that he was old enough, he was scared and never did anything he wasn't suppose to again. And he wouldn't go near his father for a few weeks. Sorry for interrupting you. If I knew that sooner I wouldn't have to come to. But I am kind of glad I did get to meet you. Oh and he will get an owl. Oh boy was he going to get an owl. Sky should have patients and wait until he's allowed in that section. He picked up his bag and started head toward the door. I'll let you get back to work. Sorry and thank you again. He said smiling again. He would definitely come to her again she was easy to talk to and he felt like he could trust her. She reminded him of his mother, in a good way.
