Gwen walked into the Three Broomsticks after a long week at Hogwarts. Who knew that being a teacher could be so stressful? It had only been a couple of weeks, but it seemed like an eternity.
After ordering a butterbeer, she sat down at a table at the back of the small room. Finally, a few minutes without the sounds of children blowing up a feather that they were supposed to make fly. And her life was just about to get more stressful, because she had just joined the order of the pheonix.

Kris walked into The Three Broomsticks. He didn't have much to do, so he was going to window shop later. He was bored, and not just a tiny bit bored, he was extremely bored.
He sat down at one of the tables, placing his feet on top of the wooden surface. He leaned back against the chair, hands behind his head and closed his eyes. Madame Rosmerta walked up to him.
"Hello Kris. It has been a while since I last saw you here."
"Hello there, Rosie. I got caught up in a few things, but now I'm free to go wherever I please."
"Oh that's good. Would you like a butter beer while you're here?"
"Why of course I would. Thank you Rosie."
Kris watched as Madame Rosmerta walked off. He scanned the room and found a tired and lonely looking brunette. He smiled and waved to her, not sure if he wanted to get off his seat.

Gwen was sitting there looking around the room when she noticed a guy sitting a few tables away. As she looked, he waved to her. She wanted someone to talk to but wasn't sure if she should make the first move. Ah, what the hell. She got up and walked over to him. She boldly sat down in a chair next to him and held out her hand.
"Hi, my name's Gwen; I'm a teacher over at the school. I noticed you were sitting alone, so I thought you might like some company."

Kris took his feet off the table as the brunette sat next to him. He took her hand and kissed it.
"Hello Gwen, my name is Kris. You seem awfully familiar."
Just then, Madame Rosmerta came with the two butter beers in her hands. She set them down on the table and grinned.
"Got some nice company, eh?" Rosie nudged Kris with her elbow. "Well I'll leave you two kiddies alone."
Kris grinned back at Rosie and she turned and left. He turned to look at Gwen and something clicked.
"Ah, didn't you only recently sign up for The Order?" He whispered, leaning towards her ear.

Gwen blushed when he kissed her hand. She wished she didn't do that. She blushed whenever the slightest thing embarrassed her. She quickly looked down at her folded hands. Oh, he had just asked her a question, she glanced back up.
"Oh, the Order. Yes, I did recently sign up. Most of the teachers at Hogwarts are in the Order. Plus, with the rise of dark wizards, I figured I might be able to lend a helping hand."
Oh great, more blushing.

Kris leaned back against his chair, smiling at Gwen. He found her shyness... cute almost. Almost. He too a sip of his butter beer.
"There is quite a lot of evil in this world." He placed his mug down. "Life would be easier if people weren't so greedy for power."
He placed his elbows on the table.
"What do you teach at Hogwarts?" He asked.

Gwen leaned back against her chair and attempted to relax. She was never very good at talking to men. For some reason, that was the only time she was ever shy.
"Well, I teach charms. This is my first year, so I'm kind of new to it all. What do you do when you're not working for the Order?"

This time, it was Kris's turn to blush.
"Umm... Well... When I'm not working for The Order?" He lifted his mug up to his lips.
Should I tell her? He thought.
He took a drink. "Well... I sort of... How should I say it... Sleep in... A lot." He scratched his head. "And I also do a lot of window shopping."
There, that should clear things up a little.

"Oh."
Gwen didn't know what to say to that so looked back down at her hands in embarrassment. The awkward silence seemed to fill the room. After a few long seconds, she looked up.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry. It's just that everyone else I know that's in the Order has another job on the side. I shouldn't have meddled. If you want your job to be working for the greater good, then that's your choice."

Kris leaned back against his chair. He didn't like awkward silences.
"It's okay. I just haven't been asked about life outside work before."
Well, it has been a long time since anyone has been interested in my private life. They're usually in it.
He hid a smirk at his thought and smiled instead.
"Well, I have been planning on getting a job, just not sure where. So I've been looking."
Looking out for both a job and Death Eaters.
He drank the rest of his butter beer.
"Do you do anything apart from teaching and stuff from The Order?"

"No, not really. I'm new to both teaching and working for the Order, so I don't really know anybody at all. So, outside of work, I'm usually walking around Hogsmeade doing nothing."
Gwen couldn't believe that she was sharing how much of a loser she was.And yet, here she was, babling on about her private life.
"Well, I haven't always been this....friendless. Back in London, I used to go to all the hot new nighclubs and parties before I took on responsibilities."

Evangaline stepped into the Three Broomsticks, looking forward to a nice, delicious glass of Butterbeer. Or maybe something stronger, like a Firewhiskey. She was getting quite bogged down in doing stuff for the Order as well as dealing with her insatiable family. Em was the only one that seemed to be sane anymore, now that Ed had off and joined the Death Eaters, and her parents were always going on and on about how she never should've gotten involved yadda yadda.
It was enough to drive anyone up a wall. Honestly, aside from Em, Eva's only solace came from her plants. They were the only ones that seemed to not cause her stress these days. What she needed was a nice hot bath, maybe a good shag, and then follow that with a cigarette.
Sighing and taking a seat at the bar, Eva ordered the strongest batch of Firewhiskey that Rosie had.
Rose gave her a long look. "Dear, what's gotten you down in the dumps?"
"Everything," Eva muttered with a sigh. "Ed...he joined the Death Eaters."
"Oh, no! You don't say? Then you definitely could use a drink, huh?" Rosie gave her a sympathetic hand-squeeze and then bustled off and Eva smiled lightly at the woman's back before turning around in her seat, her blonde hair falling in her eyes with the movement. She blew the hair off her face and surveyed the place around her.
It looked...rather dead. She supposed it was still a little early for the usual crowd to be coming in, but it seemed like the only others in there was a couple that looked to be sharing a nice, light conversation.
The two of them looked familiar, Eva decided. She cast through her memory and put a couple of names to the faces. Gwenivere Anderson and Kristopher Engarde. That was who they were. They were in the Order with her.
Well, they looked to be having a nice time at least.
Madame Rosie set her mug of Firewhiskey on the table and Eva thanked her before taking a long sip of the burning liquid. Ah. That was the stuff.

Kris's head turned when he heard the jingle of the door bell as a beautiful blonde stepped into the bar. He thought his heart skipped a beat.
"Doesn't she look familiar too?" He whispered to Gwen. "I think she is also from the Order."
He noticed the blonde was looking at him and smiled at her. He also noticed she was drinking some very strong stuff.
"Hey!" He called. "Do you want to come over? You look rather lonely." He gestured for her to come and patted on the seat next to him.
He looked over to the company he already had. "Err... If you don't mind having extra company."

Eva looked around to make sure that the rather attractive man now waving her over hadn't been speaking to anyone else before slowly standing from her seat at the bar and moving over to the offered seat. She put on a smile when she was close to the table.
"What's this, a gentleman trying to save a damsel from loneliness and monotony? You sure you don't mind me crashing your date?" she said, shooting a look at Gwenivere. She knew she'd be pissed if someone had called another girl over on a date.
Still, she took the time to survey the two of them. The woman was a rather attractive brunette with dark eyes. She remembered something about her teaching something at Hogwarts. The male, however, was what really caught her attention. Kristopher was incredibly attractive; she didn't think she'd think twice before accepting an invitation into his bed. Well, unless he had some sort of disease. He didn't look it though; in fact, he looked more healthy and contented than his pretty date.
"I'm Eva Vance, by the way," she said, holding out the hand that wasn't holding her Firewhiskey to be shaken by whichever one wanted to take it.

Kris was shocked. Eva was even more beautiful up close. He blushed.
"Oh, we aren't on a date. We just bumped into each other here. Just a friendly chat." He took Eva's free hand and kissed it, being the gentleman he is. "And I am Kristopher, but you can call me Kris."
He looked at her left hand and didn't see any ring. It was a good sign, unless she didn't wear the ring.
He waved for Rosie to come over, trying not to get caught staring at Eva. He ordered another butter beer and leaned back, not sure what to say next.
