Eva was more happy than she probably should have been when she received the knowledge that the two of them were not, in fact, on a date. That meant all was fair game.
"Kris, is it? Well, nice to meet you, Kris." Eva smiled and then took a seat, setting her Firewhiskey on the table after another long swig. It was delicious, even if it burned all the way down. Luckily, Eva could hold her liquor well and despite having finished nearly half of the strong drink, she didn't even have a buzz.
"And you're Gwen, right?" she said, glancing at Gwen and setting one of her feet up against the table, tilting her chair back. She didn't wait for a response before continuing; Eva had always been good with names, so she knew she was right, "We're all in the Order together, I believe. You're newer recruits, yeah? What made you guys decide to join?"
Eva had been in the Order for a while now. Dumbledore had approached her elder sister Emmeline when he first started gathering recruits to investigate some mysterious rising of darkness and then Emme had come to her, asking if she'd like to join as well. Being but eighteen at the time, Eva had readily accepted. She wasn't in a particular hurry to jump into any sort of career, and this seemed like it would be a good distraction. But now that she was older, being 26, and actual murders were happening, and now that her brother had taken the opposite side, Eva didn't know anymore. It was all too much.

Gwen wished she wasn't so quiet around men. This girl that came to sit at their table was clearly attracted to Kris and thought that they were together. How was she supposed to put up a good fight when there was this pretty, outgoing girl sitting about a foot away.
"Oh, I think I have seen you in the Order. Ya, I'm new. I'm a Professor at Hogwarts and thought I would be able to help, you know, fight and evil."
Gwen laughed lightly, it was fake but very believable.
"So, are you just in the Order, or do you do something else on the side?"
She tried to loosen up, so she unfolded her hands, put one elbow on the table, and leaned forward to listen more intently.

"So, are you just in the Order, or do you do something else on the side?"
"War is my career. I don't have time for some desk-job when I've got dark wizards on the loose," Eva explained casually, taking another swig of her Firewhiskey. "I'd go for Auror, but I didn't have the grades in Hogwarts." Eva blushed a little bit; she hadn't been the best student during her Hogwarts days. At all. She had plenty of skill, but no patience or interest in the subject matter at hand. She was much more interested in boys and Quidditch. She had been the beater for her team.
"So," she continued after a moment, "What subject did you say you teach?"
Even if she saw Gwen as possible competition, she saw no need to be a snobby bitch to her. She could be, true, but she much preferred being that girl that people hated to love, the one that they would try to hate but fail. It was much more exciting than being plain hated. And it wouldn't do to make a rift in the Order. Some man, no matter how attractive, was not worth something that could possibly hand a victory over to the enemy.

"Well, I teach charms. It's my first year though, so I'm still getting used to all of this."
Gwen giggled slightly and leaned back against her chair and crossed her arms in front of her.
"Though, teaching a few hundred teenagers is just about as dangerous as fighting dark wizards. I was just telling Kris that in my last lesson, I taught Wingardium Leviosa. Let me just say it was not pretty; shards of glass raining from the sky, blocks of wood flying through the air, and feathers catching on fire."

Eva laughed aloud. "Oh, Merlin. Who knew kids were so dangerous? I should've guessed though, since I'd be the one catching the feathers on fire. I think I did, once. But I pinned it on a Hufflepuff girl, Freya Longbottom. She was hopeless, so the teacher believed me. I don't think the girl ever forgave me for that, either."
Eva finished up her Firewhiskey. She felt surprisingly better now that she'd found some people to talk to about stuff other than her family. She had needed something to distract her from her brother's betrayal. It was still a fresh wound, and she knew that one day, it would be opened all over again. Eva knew she'd be the one to take her brother in. She had no choice; otherwise, she would be forever disgraced and dishonored, and those two things she couldn't afford to be.
"What about you, Kris? Do you have some unexpectedly dangerous job on the side?" Eva asked, tossing her hair over her shoulder and giving him a look that could only be described as eye sex, promising him all sorts of fun if he opened up to her. She had perfected that look during her fifth or sixth year in Hogwarts. Some boys fainted under it. Some girls, too, but that was a different story entirely.

Erik walked into the Three Broomsticks looking for a good drink after a very long week. Upon glancing around, he noticed his fellow teacher, Gwen, sitting at a table in the far corner with a couple of people he didn't know.
Without invitation, he stode over to their table and interupted their conversation.
"Hey, Gwen, do you want to introduce me to your friends?"
After ordering a firewiskey, he sat down at their table.

"Um, sure."
Gwen had no idea why he was talking to her so informally. They were both new to the school, and she had barley spoken two words to him since they had been there.
"Well, Kris, Eva, this is Professor Augustine. He teached History of Magic at the school. Professor, this is Eva and Kris. They are in the Order of the Pheonix."
She hoped that calling him Professor would give him a hint that they were not friends as of yet.

Kris had somehow zomed out along the way, though he did hear a little about the feathers catching on fire. He chuckled at that.
"What about you, Kris? Do you have some unexpectedly dangerous job on the side?"
Kris realised he had been staring at Eva. He shook his head to shake away the fogginess in his eyes. He caught her giving him a look that made him want to take her to his room and do it there.
"Well, I don't have any job apart from The Order at the moment. I just waste a lot of time... With people." He grinned at her and winked to make sure she got what he meant.
He watched as a blonde man interrupted them. He was slightly angry, but took it as the perfect chance to escape with Eva.
"Well, Professor Augustine. Nice to meet you, maybe we should leave you two to talk amongst yourselves. I'm getting tired." He yawned and stretched to show what he meant, although it was fake. "Do you want to go Eva?"

"Well, I don't have any job apart from The Order at the moment. I just waste a lot of time... With people." His wink made a smirk find its way onto her face.
"With people, huh?" she said, coloring her voice to let him know she got the insinuation.
That's when a blonde man, the newest Order recruit, Eva remembered, came over and inserted himself snugly into their conversation. Gwen introduced them and Eva put on a polite smile. "Charmed," she said, reaching over to shake his hand.
Kris then stood and yawned after making similarly brief introductions, then he turned to her and said, "Do you want to go Eva?"
"Certainly," she said, standing. "It was nice meeting the two of you. I'll leave you alone," she said, shooting a wink at Gwen that said 'Go get 'em, Tiger,' before standing aside and waiting for Kris. "Where to?" she purred.

At this point, Gwen was feeling slightly annoyed that first her perfectly lovely conversation with Kris was interupted. Then just when she was getting to like Eva, her stupid fellow professor interupted. Now, Kris and Eva were both ditching her and leaving her alone with Erik.
"Um, you know what, I need to do some shopping. Uh, I'll see you guys around."
She turned to leave. Maybe she would go to Zonko's or something.

Erik leaped up from the table and rushed over to Gwen before she could leave. He stopped her and slipped his arm around her.
"Hey, Gwen, what was all that "Professor" stuff about? I asked you to call me Erik. I thought you liked me, why are you being so difficult?"
He took his arm from around her to grab her hand instead and opened the door for her.
"What do you say we go somewhere where we can be alone."

Ok, Erik was begining to freak her out a little bit.
"Hey, Gwen, what was all that "Professor" stuff about? I asked you to call me Erik. I thought you liked me, why are you being so difficult?"
"Um, well, we barely had one conversation. And I was just being polite when I was introducing you to them. What do you mean, you thought I like you? Again, we barely had one conversation."
She went to pull her hand out of his, but he wouldn't let go.
"What do you say we go somewhere where we can be alone."
"I really need to do some shopping. I, uh, need a new quill. Very important, I have papers to grade."

Kris didn't like Erik. He was forcing himself onto Gwen and she didn't seem to like him.
"Hey, you should let her go. You can't force someone to go with you. She did say her shopping was important." He grabbed at Erik's arm. "A gentleman wouldn't hurt a woman."
Kris's blood boiled. Woman should be treated with respect. He felt like he wanted to punch Erik, but decided against it since he did not like ending up in a fight.
"Let her go." He said at last, glaring at Erik. His grip tightening on his arm.

Erik felt the hand on his arm and turned around to see the Kris guy standing behind him.
"A gentleman wouldn't hurt a woman. Let her go."
"I'm sorry, I didn't relize that you hd been innvited into our private lives. If you wouldn't mind, just go back to your girl friend over there and mind your own business."
He was getting very annnoyed that his fun with Gwen had been interrupted.

Eva was notorious for her horrible temper.
Before she even knew what was happening, a vine whipped out of her sleeve and wrapped itself around Erik. "Do you want to repeat that?" she asked, her voice low and dangerous.
Her vines tightened and slowly began pulling the professor to her, pulling him out of Kris's grip. When he was close enough, she punched Erik hard on the jaw, releasing her vine just as she hit so that he went sprawling onto the dusty floor of the Three Broomsticks.
"People like you disgust me," she said, sneering.
