I've only just started reading this doozy on my way to Savannah/Tybee Island, and I must say, I rather like it.
The dialogue is very modern and real, including terms like "WTH?" and "Epic fail" and "Total epic awesomeness."Nick is a fun character, and I like his bad ass, yet still somehow innocent, attitude. And the fact that his mum is a stripper makes things quite entertaining.
I also really like the references it makes. Already, I've read about Lord of the Rings, Anne Rice, and Manga, all things that I am quite interested in.
I will say, though, that it's a little bit lacking in the focus department. One chapter, Nick is going against zombies. Another chapter, and there's ghosts/vampires and then there's werewolves. It just feels like the author is trying to put too much in one go. You know?
In any case, it's quite a wonderful series so far. Pick up the first book, Infinity in a bookstore near you!!
