Bellatrix Ophelia Black swept into the Great Hall, her robes flowing around her. The smell of breakfast reached her nose and triggered her hunger, making her stomach rumble. Glad that no one was around to hear her, she walked with grace over to the Slytherin table. She glanced around, looking for her twin sister, Andromeda. True, they didn't always get along, but she hadn't seen her sister since they had gotten on the train and she was wondering where she was. Standing up in her seat a little, she craned her neck over the multitude of studens, scanning the crowd with her large, brown eyes. Once she found her, she motioned her over, extending a slender arm up in the air. She would talk to her, but Andy would have to come to her. She wouldn't be caught dead sitting anywhere else but her House table.

Andromeda Belvina Black was having a bad day already, it seemed. The day before, she had gone to her Common Room, then had met the weirdest girl by the name of Annalise. Afterwards, the two had gone to the owelry, where Anna had promptly fled at the simplest of questions. Today, she hadn't caught the girl at all, and so her curiosity was still unanswered. It was enough to drive her mad.
Speaking of mad, she thought, catching glimpse of her twin's thin arm rising above the tide of other students from the Slytherin table. Apparently, Bella wanted a word.
Making her excuses to anyone that would notice her leaving, Andy stood and made her way through the crowd, until she finally reached her sister. "Would it have killed you to come and get me yourself? I always knew you were mad, but lazy? I hadn't thought of that one, dear sister."

Bella smiled sweetly, leaving a hint of bitter resentment underneath. She scooted over, giving her sister room to sit down. "Mind what you say to me, dearest. Mummy and Daddy are watching closely, remember?' Picking at her eggs, she frowned. Undercooked. Typical. She shoved her plate away and grabbed another, piling it with scones, sausages, and cinnamon rolls. She nibbled on one and glanced at Andy.
"Have you stared classes yet? And what of Ravenclaw? How is it like to be covered in blue?"

Andromeda rolled her eyes and took the seat that was offered to her, grabbing a plate and filling it with a couple of bagels and a large selection of fruit; nothing like citrus to get the brain going in the mornings.
"Mummy and daddy can't help you here, dearest Bella. As for what it feels like to be in Ravenclaw, as usual it is quite a bit cleaner than I'm sure the Slytherins are used to. And blue is a calming and stable color. I read that in Colors to Fit the Mood by Adalphard Redboon," Andy returned curtly, taking a regal bite out of a bagel.
Once she swallowed, she continued, responding to Bella's first question concerning her classes. "I have indeed started taking classes; I think I'm going to rather like Muggle Studies once it gets going and Astronomy is of course a cinch. And you?" Andy knew the comment about Muggle Studies would irritate her sister; it was one of the reasons she chose to mention it in the first place.

Bellatrix stiffened at the mention of Muggle Studies but decided not to say anything. She didn't have to like everything Andromeda did, and vice versa....clearly. "Mummy and Daddy are simply an owl away. Have you heard from Narcissa recently?" As she spoke, she idly grabbed a bagel and began spreading cream cheese on it, then bit into it, savoring the taste. One thing she could say about Hogwarts was that most of their food was delicious. She scooted closer to Andromeda without realizing it. Somewhere in her subconscious, she had missed her sister, and it was comforting being around her now.

Andy didn't miss the fact that Bella had scooted closer to her, and a light smile tried to find its way onto her face. Bella annoyed her to no end, but she did love her elder twin sister. It was pretty strange being separate from her for any amount of time. The two of them, while constantly at each other's throats, couldn't help the fact that they were fraternal twins, and that they loved each other. Sometimes, the love was buried beneath heaps of irritation, but most of the time they kept their fighting, if not civil, then at least it seldom came to magical duals.
"No, I haven't heard from Cissy in ages. Have you?" she asked. She hated to admit it, but she was very protective of her youngest sister. Narcissa was a handful, and could be really spoiled, but she was very important to both her and Bella, she knew. Honestly, Bella was very protective of the both of them. She thought that being born 18 minutes ahead of Andy gave her the right to be the boss and the protector.

"Hm... No, I haven't heard anything. That's rather odd, honestly." Bella looked down at her plate, brooding. She didn't like that at all. What had her parents been doing then, if not watching over Cissy? A long, exasperated sigh escaped her lips and she glanced over at Andy. She finished off her bagel and frowned. "What's with the smile?"

Andy locked the information about Cissy away in her head; she'd Owl her later and try to catch up with her, see if anything was up. It was a bit odd that Cissy hadn't been speaking to either of them. Shoving that particular mystery to the back of her thoughts, Andromeda glanced at her sister and felt her smile widen at the question she asked next.
"Oh, nothing," she said in response. "It's just that you looooovvvee me and you're afraid to admit it." Her voice was uncharacteristically sing-song, but Andy just thought it was so funny that Bella thought she was too tough and Slytherin to admit her personal attachments.
Andromeda quickly moved to the side, though, just in case Bella tried to hit her. She had a tendency to do that when she said something that she didn't like. It was amusing, but it also hurt like hell and often escalated into a full-on catfight.

"Oh, nothing. It's just that you looooovvvee me and you're afraid to admit it.
Bella's cheeks flushed faintly and pursed her lips. Instinctively, she reached out and pushed Andy. "Do not. You're a plague I can't seem to get rid of." Regardless, she found herself smiling in return and she looked down on her plate, stuffing her face quickly. Satisfied, she stood up, slinging her bookbag over her shoulder. Well, ready to go? I'm headed to Defense Against the Dart Arts. You?"

Andromeda laughed lightly before finishing off her last lemon, only barely showing any evidence of being affected by the fruit's sourness. Then, she stood, slinging her own bag over her shoulder.
"I have Astronomy," Andy stated. "We can walk as far as Defense Against the Dark Arts together. Then I have to head up to the Astronomy Tower. Let's go."
Andy then moved steadfastly towards the door, waiting for her sister to follow.

Sirius groaned internally as he entered the Great Hall and crossed to the Gryffindor table, noticing his cousins as they passed him and pointedly ignoring them. Nothing against Andromeda, but as long as she sat with Bellatrix he was steering clear. He sat down, waiting for James, who shouldn't have been too far behind, seeing as how they had woken up around the same time. James had said he needed to do something and Sirius had a feeling it had to do with the red-headed girl he seemed to fancy. What was her name? Leela? Lindi? Lily...that was it. Lily Evans.
Sirius agreed with James that she was pretty but he wasn't about to go after someone his new friend had clearly set his sights on first. That wasn't right. He put his face in one hand and his dark bangs fell into his face a bit with the movement but he made no effort to fix them. He was feeling darkly apprehensive about how his family would react to his sorting into Gryffindor. It wasn't about good or bad, since he knew they'd be upset no matter what. It was more...degrees of bad. How bad was it going to be? A pinprick or an explosion?
Guess I'll just have to wait and see, he thought, biting into a piece of bacon. It was no use. His stomach felt like it contained a million writhing worms and he was beginning to dread the arrival of the owl post.

"Not at all," Sev replied, nodding politely at Night and leading the way out of the Common Room, into the corridors and down the ever-changing steps to the Great Hall. He was very lucky that the staircases didn't throw him off as much as they seemed to for the other students. Sure, it was a bit confusing but though he had been here only a short time, he was starting to get the hang of it a little. Luckily, they got to the Great Hall in time for breakfast and headed over to the Slytherin table.
He noted that Sirius Black was at the Gryffindor table, no doubt waiting for Potter. Sev's head seemed to hurt all of a sudden. Why did they annoy him so much? He had a bad feeling about those two...
Deciding it best not to dwell on it, he turned to Night. "I trust you slept well?"

Night walked with him until they got there and she sat turning to him. "It was an awesome night. Those beds are so much more comfortable than at the orphanage" She was absolutely ecstatic that she got to spend time with Severus. Maybe they could be friends. She would be happy. That would be the one of the best things to happen to her.

He blinked several times. "Orphanage?" Well this was a surprise. The things you found out about people, really. He wasn't sure exactly how to respond to this, so he said,
"I suppose that's good. I'm glad." He offered her a small smile and then poured her some pumpkin juice, as well as some for himself.
"I couldn't help but noticing you had a little chat with Bellatrix Black last night. She seems interesting. What was it about if you don't mind me asking?" He kept his tone polite, but he wanted to make sure not all the Blacks were going to be jerks to him, especially if they were in the same House. One Sirius was bad enough.
