"Caitlyn. You can call me Caitlyn. Don't you have a class to be finding?"
"Well, I did, but...well, honestly, I need help," Rae admitted. She wasn't the biggest on asking for help; she often tried to do things on her own. Unfortunately, she often failed in that endeavor. "I kept on getting lost. This place is like a fortress!"
Rae nearly hit herself at that; it was like a fortress because it was a fortress. Merlin, she was stupid. Caitlyn probably could tell, too, how she wasn't exactly the brightest crayon in the box despite her hair color. It was always frustrating, having a mind that often wandered off in random directions. Like now. "Did you know that Hogwarts was built in the 9th century? It's so huge, isn't it? I can't believe they could build something like this back then! It must've taken forever to build this place...or maybe not. They were witches and wizards, after all." Rae frowned. She would have to figure out exactly how the place had been built. Rae looked at her schedule again, shaking herself back out of her rambling thoughts. "In fact, since it's so big, I knew I'd get lost. That's why I started trying to find my classes today, so I wouldn't be late on Monday. But I can't find anything!" Rae jogged to get ahead of Caitlyn and stood in front of her, reaching out to grab the other girl's hands in her own and crumpling her schedule again in the process, "Won't you please, please pretty please help me, Cait?" She pouted and gave Caitlyn her biggest puppy-dog eyes ever, hoping they'd work.
Did Slytherins even like puppies? She'd have to find out. Maybe Caitlyn would be willing to shed some light on that situation.

"Won't you please, please pretty please help me, Cait?"
Caitlyn was so surprised by the other girl's-- Gemma's-- actions that she could do nothing but gape for a moment. Not many people were stupid enough to just touch her out of the blue, and then to call her Cait... hadn't she said Caitlyn? Apparently, Gryffindors really were dumber than even she had given them credit for.
Regaining a bit of her inner balance, Caitlyn snatched her hands back and glared at the other girl, who was giving her the biggest puppy-dog eyes ever. Honestly, Caitlyn thought she looked more like an owl than a puppy. Really, who had eyes that big? How did they even fit on her face?
"My name is Caitlyn, not Cait." Nevertheless, the sooner she helped the girl out, the sooner she could get back to being alone, so she grabbed the crumpled schedule and looked over it. What was her next class...?
Caitlyn wanted to hit herself with something. Hard. Why on earth, in such a huge school, where there was probably countless different combinations of classes to take, would they have the same class? Someone somewhere definitely had it out for her. She had to concede that maybe she should see where her classes were, as well... at least if she got lost now, she could blame it on someone else.
"I'll walk you," Caitlyn grumbled, pushing the schedule back over to Gemma-- Gemma because they were not friends and Caitlyn wasn't going to start calling her by a nickname. And Caitlyn was going to address that fact, as well. "And don't make the mistake of thinking we're friends; I just happen to have the same class."

Caitlyn snatched her hands back. "My name is Caitlyn, not Cait." The other girl grabbed the schedule from Rae's hand and looked it over, her expression looking much like that of someone who had smelled something infinitely unpleasant; Rae didn't mind, though. Most people tended to look at her like that, either because of her ridiculously happy attitude or her brightly colored hair or her perceived lack of intelligence or skill, or, in the case of her mother, because she was sinful and evil. But Rae could handle that, because even if people were being mean to her, at least they didn't leave her alone.
"I'll walk you," Caitlyn finally grumbled, thrusting the schedule back at her, "And don't make the mistake of thinking we're friends; I just happen to have the same class."
"Yay! Thank you thank you thank you!" Rae cried out happily, all but bouncing up and down and seemingly oblivious to the less-than-friendly-words that had accompanied the statement that Caitlyn would walk with her to her classes. Rae immediately turned and began marching to the doors that would lead back inside the castle, but then stopped and turned.
"Um. Which way do we go first?" she asked, smiling sheepishly and reaching a hand up to twist one of her fingers in a strand of her brightly colored hair.

"Yay! Thank you thank you thank you!"
Crossing her arms, Caitlyn rolled her eyes. Gemma apparently had selective hearing, and all she'd chosen to hear was that Caitlyn would help her. Well, Caitlyn couldn't say she minded too terribly; at least Gemma wasn't touching her or even looking at her anymore. Instead, she was marching up to the castle's doors, so Caitlyn followed the very annoying girl she found herself stuck with. Perhaps she could find a way to get rid of her. Her usual tactic-- being cold and rude-- hadn't worked so far.
"Um. Which way do we go first?"
"Inside is usually a good start," she deadpanned. After all, there was a total of what, about two classes not inside the actual castle? She doubted they would find anything like Charms or Potions outdoors. Besides, she knew for certain that Potions was in the dungeon (as she'd passed the classroom the previous night on her way to her Common Room), and she was fairly confident she at least knew the general location of the rest of her classes. It was more a matter of remembering how to find them and not getting tripped up by the moving staircase than anything.
So, Caitlyn brushed past Gemma to head inside. She didn't bother to turn around to see if the other girl was following her; she simply turned and started heading down to the Potions room. If the dungeons didn't make Gemma want to turn tail and run, she wasn't sure she could find anything that did.

"Inside is usually a good start," Caitlyn stated and then brushed past her to go inside. Rae quickly sped up and followed, eager to see some more of the castle without the fear of getting lost. She didn't know why she was so confident in the other girl's abilities; she couldn't be much older than she was, and probably hadn't done much exploring. Slytherins weren't really all that into exploring were they? Rae would have to ask that, too.
Still, Rae was notorious for trusting people, even the type of people one should never trust, and so she allowed herself to walk alongside Caitlyn to wherever the other girl was leading. Honestly, what could go wrong? Worst case scenario was that they'd both end up lost in some random corridor and have to wander around until they either regained their bearings or found someone to tell them which way they should go to find where they needed to go. By the end of the day, she was sure that she'd be ready to face classes on Monday. She just had to get through today first, and at least she wouldn't be doing that alone now.
"Say, Cait..." Rae frowned when she had once again unintentionally used the nickname she'd decided on. Caitlyn sounded so...formal. But Caitlyn had told her to call her Caitlyn, so she would have to try, "I mean, Caitlyn. Where are we headed first now that we're inside?"
