Name: Gemma Rae Starr
Nicknames (optional): Rae, Gems, Gem, Gemi, G, G-rae...Anything really!
Gender: Female
Orientation: Rae simply loves love and being in love.
Hair: Naturally, it's a dark brown, but her aunt used magic to turn it a magenta/fuchsia/red color at her request.
Eyes: Tawny colored eyes.
Skin-tone: Pale as milk!
Personality: Rae tries to be as cheerful as possible. You will rarely ever see her without the biggest smile on her face imaginable. She values bravery and pride and tries her best to embody these characteristics. Sometimes, it works, other times, she can't help but be scared and cry a lot. Sometimes, she comes off as really stupid , though she is actually really smart. She just lacks the part of the brain that tells her that she shouldn't say something, and so she blurts out something completely random or seemingly irrelevant. Unfortunately, Rae also has the most terrible temper. It's hard to set her off, but once it happens, take cover. She can be violent and unpredictable and her emotions are a volatile mess. Mostly, though, she is just a bundle of positive energy and optimism bordering on the obscene.
Likes: Sunshine, adventures, friends, reading on a rainy day, and the smell of freshly cut roses, which are her favorite flowers.
Dislikes: Following rules, closed-off spaces (especially closets), and above all, she fears being alone.
History: Behind a carefree attitude and vibrant personality, there lurks a slightly sinister and tragic past. Rae's mother is a religious fanatic that views Rae as an abomination, unfit for the world. Tessa Starr was seduced by a beautiful man who claimed to be an angel and ended up having Rae as a result of that. Before disappearing mysteriously, the man told her to name the child Gemma Rae. Tess adored her child as a baby and a very young girl, but when Rae began exhibiting signs of being a witch, the woman began abusing her, locking her up in a tiny closet and quoting the Bible at her to drive Satan's influence out of her. She convinced Rae that she had to repent for her sins and that anything bad that happened in her life was exactly what she deserved. Tess often told Rae that she wasn't her daughter anymore, but a demon, and even tried to have her exorcised by a priest. Luckily, when Rae turned ten, her aunt (claiming to be the sister of Rae's mysterious father) came and stole her from her crazed mother and began the difficult process of trying to undo the harmful remnants of what her mother had done to her. Now a year later, it seems to have worked. Instead of the terrified kid she had been, Rae has blossomed into a free-spirited and adventurous girl. She is still terrified of small spaces and prone to bouts of terrified babbling in her sleep, but she is learning slowly to just smile the darkness away.
Special Skills: Rae has an immense amount of raw magical power, but a mental block prevents her from utilizing it; she is afraid of her own strength and, as a result, is not very good at spell work, although her theory is above par thanks to her Aunt Rosie.
Sample Post (at least 50 Words): Dude. My history is so long, I'm going to use *that* as my bloody sample! Haha.
