Gwen walked throught the dark, drafty corradors on her way to Erik's office. It was late, all of the students were in their common rooms by now. She and Erik had been spending a lot of time together lately. She had to admit that he wasn't being the ass she thought he was. Maybe she had him figured out wrong. She walked faster. They were only friends now and nothing more. After all, she had a boyfriend. Damien was a great man, he was really good to her. And Erik treated her horrible, or at least he used to. He had changed a lot since their little spat....spats.
She stopped as she reached his office door. She placed her hand on the handle, but did not move to turn it. Maybe she should suggest that they see eachother a little less. She didn't want to hurt Damien, and he might see their friendship as more than it was. She took a deep breath and opened the door. Erik's office was covered with moving posters of Goblin rebelions and witch burnings. He really enjoyed his subject. She noticed him right away. He was sitting at his desk shuffleing through papers.
"Hey Erik. I need to talk to you for a minute, but if your busy right now then I can come back later."
When he made no objections, she closed the door behind her and sat down at on of the chairs in front of his desk.
"Listen, I think that we have been spending a little too much time together lately. As you know, Damien and I are together and I would hate for him to get the wrong idea about us."

"Hey Erik. I need to talk to you for a minute, but if your busy right now then I can come back later."
Erik looked up to see Gwen standing in his doorway. She looked so pretty.....No! She had a boyfriend.
"No, it's fine. I'm just grading papers, you are much more facinating."
"Listen, I think that we have been spending a little too much time together lately. As you know, Damien and I are together and I would hate for him to get the wrong idea about us."
The anger in Erik's mind suddenly flared. She was seriously trying to break up with him when they were not even dating? They were just friends for christ's sake. He stood up angrily, pushing his chair back up against the wall, and walked around his desk to stand right in front of her.
"Are you serious? We are just friends, so what is the big deal? Are you afraid that little Damien will get jealous and come beat me up? Or are you afraid that he will break up with you? No, no, he is too nice, he wouldn't get jealous over something as trivial as a teacher to teacher friendship. No.....I figured it out. You have feelings for me, and you don't want to help them on by seeing me too much......... Ouch, what was that for?"

At this point, she had had enough. Gwen stood up, and brought her arm back as far as it would go and slapped him across the face as hard as she could.
"Ouch, what was that for?"
"Are you seriously this stupid all of the time. Here you are yelling at me and making assumptions about my relationship with Damien. And for you information we are very happy. I really lo.......I really like him.......He's good to me."

"Do you love him? Gwen, do you love him?"
Her silence made up his mind for him.
"That's all I needed to know."
He had no idea what made him do it, it could have been the fact that he found out she didn't love her boyfriend, or it could have been the fact that he had been in love with her since they first met. Before she had time to answer him, he wrapped his arms tightly around her so she couldn't escape and kissed her like he had never kissed a woman before. The feel of her lips on his was better than her had ever imagined. He kissed her more urgently trying to force a responce out of her.
