Sirius groaned internally. "Uh...my name's Sirius Black," he replied a little hesitantly. "And my whole family was in Slytherin up til' now so I'm glad I'm in Gryffindor." He chanced a smile and stifled a yawn. Jeez he was tired!
Thanks to my no good Mom... He sighed and spooned up a helping of mashed potatoes.

Anna noticed Joanne sit down and begin talking to another Ravenclaw."Hi, there,"she said cheerfully. "I'm Anna...and you're...." She squinted for a moment, figuring her out.
"You're Joanne Jordan, twin of Samantha Jordan!" she proclaimed triumphantly.
She knew she shouldn't be flaunting her powers, but she just couldn't help it. Humans were such a delicious mix of expected and unpredictable.

"Ya, she did years ago, back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. It's so sad that you never really knew your father."
Griffin loved his father more than anything in the world, and it was hard for him to imagine not having him around.
"I grew up in suberbian hell. Block upon block of houses that look exactly the same only slightly different shades of white. It feels so great to be here, I feel like I've just been unleashed from my cage."

Roxie put her finger up to her cheek. "Oh, good point. Well, I still wouldn't worry. I mean, you look way more skilled than that little toy." She smiled at him then lightly nudged him.
"I'm Roxanne. And yourself?" Roxanne kept her eyes on this boy he whole time, quietly observing him. He's attractive. Now if he could be less... antisocial...

Samantha’s eyes widened in shock; the sorting have had placed her in Gryffindor while her sister was in Ravenclaw!!!! She thought she and her sister would always be together, even in the same house if they got accepted the Hogwarts. After Professor Mcgonagall removed the Sorting Hat from her head, Samantha went to join the other Gryffindors who were cheering loudly for her, just as the Ravenclaws done for her sister, Joanne. She nervously found a spot between an older boy and a girl her age, whom had just got Sorted into Gryffindor.
When the sorting ended, Professor Dumbledore, the Headmaster, stood up and started making a short speech about the dangers lurking around the school. Even though she was more of an adventurous type compared to her sister, even Samantha had the common sense to understand not to go into the areas that Dumbledore had described (at least intentionally). When he was done speaking, food suddenly appeared on the table, although this was not a surprise to her, because when she was growing up, this happen quite frequently at home. Not remembering the last time she actually ate, because it had been several hours, she started piling lots and lots of food on her plate, and then preceded to immediately stuff her face with a little bit of everything that was in front of her.
While she was chewing, the girl to her left introduced herself. “Hey there, groovy sister! They call me Remy Moonbeam, and I think it’s really groovy that I got accepted to a place like this. I’ve always believed that magic was within all of us, but I didn’t think that it was truly inside of me so this is a really truly far out.” Samantha looked at the girl while she finished chewing; when she swallowed the last bite, she said, “My name is Samantha Jordan. I take it you come from a muggle family?” “What’s a muggle?” asked Remy. “A muggle is someone who doesn’t have any active magical powers,” Samantha explained. “My mother was a witch and my father was a muggle, so I am what they call a half-blood; you’d be considered a muggle-born, since nobody else in your family seems to have magical powers.”
Samantha then launched into an explanation of some of the basics of magic while they ate.

"Nice talking to you too. I'll see you around" she smiled and went back to her chicken and began to think about her classes. She wondered how she would do.
After only about thirty minutes more she decided to get up and head to bed herself. She walked from the hall and began to think just how much talking to Severus made her feel more comfortable.
(OOC I'm going to be gone for a bit see you guys later!)

"Uh...my name's Sirius Black," his new friend replied, and continued talking. James, however, perked up, and ignored the rest of his statement.
"Wait, you're a Black? As in the number one pureblood family known for "not wanting to deal with besmirching halfbloods and mutants" and such? Ugh. What a horrid family..." He picked at his food and shrugged then popped a green pea in his mouth.

Dastan barely moved when she nudged him and instead stared at her, wondering what she was playing at. Was she...flirting? Lord Alex told him that girls sometimes did that, but Dastan found it weird. Wasn't that supposed to happen later? When they were much older?
And what was he supposed to do in return? "Dastan," he said, answering her question about what his name was. He couldn't really think of a better response than that, and didn't see the need to look for one. He would just see what this girl did next.

Dastan the unfriendly! she thought. Then she just looked at him. "You're strange, Dastan," she said. Then she smiled. She was enjoying this.
"I believe that in this world, power gets you places." She didn't know why she was telling him this, but she continued. "I like power, and I believe you have much potential... Like me." She smiled, full of herself. "Whaddya say we stick together, huh?"

"Not interested," Dastan responded bluntly, taking a slow sip of his pumpkin juice. He enjoyed solitude and being on his own. And he wasn't one to share power. Especially not with a chatty girl that thought she was worthy of being powerful. Honestly, she probably only wanted power to make herself more wealthy than she was. She was just like those jerks ruling on high in Alamut.
Besides, he couldn't have some girl distracting him from his goals.

Roxie raised an eyebrow. Then she giggled. "Oh, Dastan. You're funny. Why not join forces?"
Smiling, she couldn't help it. "Think about it. I have money, I'm destined to be a great witch, and you're probably destined to be a great wizard. You can even call me Roxie~" She winked yet again.

Sirius hopes were dashed as the next words poured out of James's mouth.
"Wait, you're a Black? As in the number one pureblood family known for "not wanting to deal with besmirching halfbloods and mutants" and such? Ugh. What a horrid family..."
"Uh...yeah...something like that," he replied, looking down at his plate, fighting tears of frustration. Why did everyone always have to judge him this way?
"Think whatever you want about me. I'm not like them," he said in a voice just above a murmur. Then his voice grew louder and he almost yelled the next words. "You got that, Potter? I'm not like them, so just lay off!" He turned away and stuffed his mouth with food before standing and exiting the Great Hall. He had had enough for one night.

Dastan stood, annoyed. Who did this girl think she was? Did she honestly believe that he would just roll over and become her best friend because she had money and high hopes of becoming skilled?
"Come to me when you've actually proven yourself to be a powerful witch," Dastan said coldly, then he took one last gulp of his pumpkin juice and left the Great Hall, headed for the Slytherin Common Room. Only then did he realize that he didn't know where it was, or what the password was. Just his luck.

James blinked, unaware that beef and gravy was pouring out of his open mouth. He watched Sirius leave and slowly closed his mouth, chewing his food slowly. I never--ok? He sighed softly, knowing that he'd have to go and apologize later. For now though, he'd just focus on his delicious Shepperd's pie. He glanced over at the red-headed girl and his eyes lit up. Goodness, she was cute. He couldn't wait to get over to her and talk to her. At least she was in Gryffindor, which would make it exponentially easier to talk to her and maybe get more than just a friendly conversation.

Roxie sighed as Dastan stormed off. "Oh the nerve of him, treating poor Roxie in such a manner!" She said, feigning being hurt. Either way, she wasn't going to give up now. She smiled and followed him out.
Finally catching up to him, she yells, "Oi, Dastan! Where're you going?"
